Danish activists stopped by the Greek police

10 orange activists have been forbidden to follow the Olympic Torch in Greece. They were stopped already 70 kilometres from the city of Larissa, where they had planned to be a peaceful part of the Torch Relay.   

After they had been released and afterwards stopped again, the local policemen told them they had received orders from the chief constable to prevent everything related to TheColorOrange project from entering the Greek Torch cities. At this moment (Friday, 4.40 pm) the Danes are in the middle of an escort with police cars in front and behind them to prevent them from getting away from the main road. The Danish activists have travelled to Greece to join the Torch ceremonies peacefully wearing orange clothes as a symbol of the human rights violations in China.

So now our 10 activists have travelled 3,000 kilometres to be kept back by the Greek police in connection with an absolutely peaceful democratic orange action. It seems grotesque, as one of the slogans of the campaign is, “Can China ban the Color Orange?”  Now the Greek apparently try to anticipate the Chinese. This happens in a country where the democratic ideas and the free debate were founded.
