The initiator of TheColorOrange.net project, Jens Galschiot, does not understand the worries of the Olympic Comity of The Netherlands. "What we do is to encourage people to use Orange as a very open and broad symbol of the problems about Human Rights in China. We were not inspired by the Dutch when we chose the ColorOrange, but by the painter Kandinsky, who said that the Color Orange is in fact red that has been made more human by the color yellow. The Chinese color is red and Amnesty Internationals color is yellow and a mixture of the two would benefit the Chinese population a lot.

I do not see any problems in the Olympic Team of the Netherlands showing up in their national Color which is Orange. I am sure that almost the whole of the Dutch population agrees that the lack of Human Rights in China is problematic and I actually think that the Dutch population should be proud, when we use their color to make this signal. The Dutch are the only ones who will be able to wear their national color and at the same time promote basic human rights. Everybody else wearing Orange at the Olympic Stadiums will only afterwards be able to tell why they did it, as they risk disqualification if they express their true opinions."
